It's been a while.
The team has spent a lot of time wandering through an architecturally unlikely dungeon, then wading through an unpleasantly flooded and algae-filled dungeon swarming with stirges and other unpleasant creatures.
They decided to give up on their task for Ban the Wizard and called him through the portal prematurely, thus annoying a powerful wizard who might otherwise have been a useful ally.
They've been regularly beaten up while cunningly avoiding any of the places where they might pick up some interesting loot, and barely sustaining body and soul by eating whatever disgusting monsters they can knock down and treat with Purify Food & Drink spells.
They've now escaped from their sodden filthy dungeon by stepping through a magical portal into a tropical paradise where they will now be chased around by dinosaurs.
But at least the weather's better, and there is food.
